What’s the difference between a real estate agent (Broker) and a REALTOR®?

A real estate agent (Broker) and a REALTOR® are not the same, although the terms are often used interchangeably. A real estate agent (Broker) is a licensed professional who has completed the necessary education and training required by the state to legally buy, sell, and rent properties for others. On the other hand, a REALTOR® is a real estate agent (Broker) who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). To become a REALTOR®, an agent must agree to abide by the NAR’s strict Code of Ethics and also complete additional education and training. This distinction sets REALTORS® apart and demonstrates their commitment to ethical and professional conduct in the real estate industry.

How long do I have after completing my pre-licensing courses to take the state real estate exam?
